Richard Carr has worked in the Property and Hospitality industry for over 30 years and is recognised as being one of the most Innovative and Creative Individuals during his career.
His vast experience and expertise and knowledge of the industry enables him to maximise the potential of proposed developments for his clients and his Company Fortitudo.
He has owned and run many companies and has been a Chairman and Chief Executive of a FTSE company in the Hospitality sector, since the early 1980s.
His first major success at 21 years old saw him buy a disused warehouse in Bournemouth, gain planning permission and sell for a significant profit to a developer for residential use. He went on to build Allied Restaurants which owned Businesses from Oxford Street in London to Poole in Dorset this Business was sold to Grand Metropolitan in 1990, he went on to pioneer edge of town Leisure with his Megabowl 10 pin Bowling Concept and Bars and Nightclubs, Allied Leisure became a driving Force in the Leisure Industry with sites from Edinburgh to Poole. Richard left Allied Leisure in 1994 after becoming disillusioned with running a PLC it was later taken over by Georgica PLC.
Having spent many years in the Hospitality sectors, 2003 saw Richard concentrate his efforts on property. He developed Ravine Lifestyle and the brand quickly became a recognised.
He enjoyed some spectacular planning results and had a development pipeline more than £100m at the time of the banking crash in 2008.
Richard now acts as Chief Executive for Fortitudo Property which has sites all over the South Coast of the UK, who Specialise in low cost Housing.
